Our rental program at Terra Nova Violins provides students of all ages with high-quality instruments at affordable monthly rates!
New Rentals
Starting a new rental contract is fast and easy! If you are ready to rent, please reach out to us via the form submission below, or feel free to give us a call to schedule a consultation. Let us know which of our locations you will be renting from (Austin or San Antonio), which instrument you would like to rent, what size you need, and which rental tier you would prefer. If you are unsure which size and/or rental tier you would prefer, we are happy to discuss what would work best for you or your child at your consultation.
Once you decide which instrument you would like to rent, we will help you complete your contract and payment information. You will need to provide your Texas government-issued photo ID and a debit/credit card to complete the contract. If you do not have a valid photo ID from the state of Texas, we will need documentation verifying Texas residency (utility bill, lease agreement, etc). The name and address on the rental agreement must match the name and address on the ID and credit card you provide. If you are not a Texas resident, please contact us at the store location you plan to rent from.
At the time of your rental, you will owe a one-month’s refundable deposit, a pro-rated rental rate for the remainder of the month, and the next two months of rent. Once the first three pre-paid months have passed, you will be automatically charged on midnight before the 1st of each month. There is no set time period for your rental contract, so you may rent for as long as you like. If you would like to end your rental contract, there is no notice needed- simply return your instrument to us in store. We do not offer short term contracts at this time.
Each rental outfit includes the instrument, a case, a bow, and rosin. If you need additional supplies, we offer a variety of accessories sold separately- violinists and violists typically require a shoulder rest or sponge, cellists and bassists usually need a rock stop. All string players will need a cleaning cloth and a music stand. If you are unsure which supplies you may need, your teacher will be able to make appropriate suggestions, or you can give us a call for recommendations. Many of our accessories are on our website, so feel free to browse our selection online.

Rental Exchanges
If you need to exchange your instrument for a larger size or a higher rental tier, our exchange process is quick and easy! Please give us a call before visiting so we can make sure we have what you need in stock. Once you arrive at the shop to make the exchange, please make sure all of your or your child’s personal items have been removed from the instrument and case you are returning.
