John Walker was featured in a 1920 edition of the British Violin Makers dictionary for his beautiful amber oil instrument varnishes. Primarily occupied with instrument repairs and restoration, he made a relatively small number of instruments over the course of his lifetime. Even so, Walker’s instruments are known for their aesthetic as well as sonic beauty that evidence the maker’s experience with fine violins.
