Originally a professional oboist, Eric Caldwell entered into violin making after studying with Dr. Karl Roy, the former director of the Bavarian State School for Violin Making. He worked for several years in the workshops of Peter Zaret & Sons and Potter Violins before opening his own shop in 2009. His instruments have been praised for their warmth, richness, and refined sound.
