This violin is labeled “d’après [based upon] Antonius Stradivarius – Anno 1721.” Its construction is consistent with the characteristics of violins from the large French firms of Marc Laberte and Jérôme Thibouville-Lamy in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, but its exact origin is unknown. It has since been restored and is in great condition. It has a sweet, rich tone for a violin of its size.
