0.00

Master luthier Leo Aschauer served as the director of the prestigious Mittenwald school of violin making for over 35 years. It was there that William Moennig Jr., son of the founder of the American firm William Moennig & Son, studied violin making and received his master luthier certification. After studying under Aschauer, Moennig returned to America where he continued his professional relationship with Aschauer by importing and selling his instruments. Aschauer’s violins were made from fine tonewoods from the nearby Karwendel region and patterned after models by Stradivari and Guarneri del Gesù.
