Repair and Restoration

Terra Nova Violins offers a full range of services, from maintenance to full restoration of valuable instruments and bows. Symphony members and touring artists have entrusted their priceless instruments and bows to the care of Terra Nova Violins' workshop. Yet this highly respected level of service is available to students as well. We believe the joy of playing music is enhanced by a properly functioning, well-adjusted instrument. Your instrument and bow investments will maintain their value if they are kept in top condition.

The repair and restoration workshop is headed by Abbas Selgi, internationally recognized instrument maker and repair expert. Abbas became a master instrument maker and opened his first shop in Tehran at the age of 21 years. Since coming to South Texas, his reputation for craftsmanship and insightful tonal adjustments has been spread by word of mouth, as enthusiastic customers have recommended the shop's services to colleagues and students. Players visit or send instruments and bows from throughout Texas and neighboring states to our workshop.
